October 2006 Interview with Little Dee Vibe of KBFD Sunset Beach, Oregon
WRZ: You're one of Oregon's youngest Dee Jays. How'd you get the job at KBFD?
LDV: I know the owner, actually, he's my Dad and he knew about my interest in Theater, Poetry and I'm also
WRZ:What do you like about the gig?
LDV: I like the freedom of being able to pick whatever I want from the musc library and play it in any order I
WRZ: How did a tiny town on the Oregon Coast get such a Rockin station?
LDV: It was a vision of the stations owner, Peter Kraushaar AKA Cactus Pete Michaels. He worked at Free Form Rock
stations in the 70's and 80's in Tucson and Phoenix and when he started his low power & internet stations at Sunset
Beach he wanted to do something different than what's heard on the AM and FM dial in this area. Our signal just does
cover our little town of 200 homes but our internet service is heard worldwide.
WRZ: Do you plan on a broadcasting career?
LDV: I'd like to be a veterinarian and play music in a band in my spare time.
WRZ: Do you have any other hobbies or interests?
LDV: I'm a pretty good volleyball player and I write poetry, I've even been published a few times. I'm the starting Setter
for my high school volleyball team.
WRZ: What are your goals for the next 12 months?
LDV: To continue to play volleyball and get good grades in high school.
WRZ: What's your favorite type of music?
LDV: I like ALL types but I'm really fond of Rock, Hip Hop and Youth Beat.
